ADDITION TO HISTORIC 3316 LEMP

DSC08128-Edit.jpg

What do you do with a historic one-room brick house built in the 1890’s? After several failed proposals to incorporate the dilapidated structure into a multi-family project, Curtiss W Byrne Architect and Rubicon Corporation brought this Benton Park brewery “workers cottage” back to life with a complimentary addition. Curtiss designed the addition in a “Transitional” style with only a minimal connection to the existing building. A glazed front entrance links the old to the new. The existing cottage was restored and turned into a cozy living room while the 1,442 sq. ft. L-shaped addition forms a private rear courtyard between the new and the existing structures.

Developer and General Contractor: Rubicon Corporation
