BREEZE KNOLL KITCHEN REMODEL & ADDITION

Breeze Knoll Breakfast Room Addition.jpg

The homeowners’ desire for a more functional kitchen sparked a kitchen remodel that included a new 200 square foot addition that would serve as a breakfast room. As part of the kitchen remodel, a double pocket door was added opening the kitchen up to the existing Family Room.

The addition, designed to look and feel like a conservatory, is a light filled room with vaulted tongue and groove ceiling and heated slate tiled floor. Two sets of patio doors lead to a bluestone patio. Precise detailing was required to conceal structural members and maximize the amount of glass and the height of the vaulted ceiling.

An elliptical eyebrow transom punctuates the standing seam copper roof and continues the scalloped grille theme from the front of the house which was remodeled in 2010. Now more than just a breakfast room addition, the space has become a gathering spot for meals, entertaining, doing homework, or just simply hanging out.
