Universal Design Universal Design, similar to
Accessible Design and Barrier Free Design, is the idea that buildings and
products should be usable and effective for everyone regardless of age or

age-in-place without having to make major modifications to your home. Curtiss
is experienced in Universal Design and was the architect for the Universal
Design prototype house in Pagedale, Missouri. Curtiss has also been a presenter
at two Universal Design conferences in St. Louis, MO. Click on

So
far, Curtiss has designed four housing developments for Northside Community
Housing. He has been a valuable team member throughout the entire development
process, from the resubdivision of parcels through construction supervision.
Though 'affordable,' his designs are quite attractive and complement existing
homes in the historic urban setting, which is important to us. What is also
important is his patience during the process. He listens, offers constructive
feedback, and works to deliver by making sure that the general contractor
produces the product he designed.
